Long Island City Audi | Queens Preowned Car Dealer
Audi is not exactly a newcomer to the automotive business. In business for more than a century, the company was founded in Germany in 1910. However, it was not until the automaker was purchased by Volkswagen and subsequently introduced widely to the US in the 1970s. The 100LS luxury sedan and compact and energetic Fox coupe and sedan began to gain attention in that era, but by the end of the decade the new 5000 luxury sedan had replaced the aging and dated 100LS. Every manufacturer has its defining moments and for Audi, that occurred in Geneva in 1980. The carmaker introduced an all-wheel-drive sports coupe named the Audi Quattro, and the game changed from that point on. The Quattro’s all-wheel-drive system earned Audi rave reviews in the motorsports world and it was ultimately unified into the official line up.
As all relevant auto makers tend to do, NY Audi continued to innovate. The Fox was replaced by the 4000, and soon thereafter their wildly popular 5000 was reengineered. Audi’s saw a sharp increase in sales, thanks to the aerodynamically capable yet elegantly beautiful design, coupled with the attribute that would become Audi’s signature – a sophisticated cabin that exuded quality. In the late ’80s, Audi once again revamped their line, with the 4000 and 5000 redesigned and renamed, becoming the Audi 80, more fully equipped Audi 90, the Audi 100 and the Audi 200. Major development included the 200’s turbocharged five-cylinder with all-wheel drive; as well as a new Coupe, and a new flagship vehicle, a V8-powered 200 sedan simply called the “V8”.
The A4 and Cabriolet models followed, and the 100 was renamed once more, this time to the well-known and current A6. The striking A8 became Audi’s pride and joy, boasting all-aluminum construction and a muscular V8. High-performance versions of the various models entered the market, known as S4, S6, and S8. But Audi wasn’t done yet! The innovation parade continued, as the TT, Audi’s low-slung sports coupe was spotted on the road, and RS versions of the A4 and A6 achieved even more impressive performance than the S” variants. Audi’s more recent releases include the A3 hatchback, Q5 crossover SUV, sleek A5 coupe, exotic R8 sports car and A7 luxury sedan, which also happens to sport a hatchback.
Right up until the present time, Audi’s accolades continue in the cache prestige New York car marketplace; their broad range of vehicles impressively fuse luxury and sport in a way only Audi can accomplish.
