Long Island City Audi A3 | Brooklyn Preowned Car Specials
The Audi A3 was introduced to the US as its entry level model in 2006, although it had already spent 10 years growing up in Europe. More compact and light on its feet than the A4, the Audi A3 makes a strong case for purchasing an affordable sport sedan or wagon. But don’t think for a minute that “affordable” means that the automaker skimped on quality – the interior cabin was created to meet the prestigious standards that Audi is famous for; cohesive design, precise movements, and high-quality look and feel. The only style available on the A3 until 2015 was the wagon, making it an upscale option, a diversion from the more mundane hatchbacks in its class. Additionally, with the addition of a clean-burning diesel engine option, the fuel efficiency attains impressive results and positions it to rival even hybrid numbers. Whether considering an A3 wagon or sedan, you’ll experience the unmistakable aura of Audi – engineering excellence combined with an elegant interior.
Originally, the Audi A3 was offered in 2.0T and 3.2 Quattro trim levels. Standard features on the 2.0T included 17-inch wheels and a 10-speaker audio system. The “S line” Package added a sport-tuned suspension, leather upholstered sport seats and personality driven styling. The 3.2 Quattro included most premium package options as standard; noteworthy available features on both trim levels included xenon headlights, a sunroof, a navigation system, Bluetooth, and a Cold Weather package. In 2009, the A3 received a makeover inside and out, with Audi’s signature larger grille and LED running lights on display. Leather upholstery, satellite radio, and an auxiliary audio jack became standard equipment, while the 2.0T added all-wheel drive to its repertoire. This generation of A3 found a satisfying equity between capable handling and a relaxing ride. The base 2.0-liter engine delivered enthusiastic acceleration while maintaining its fuel economy.
The next-generation Audi A3 took the 2006 market by storm. Available only as a four-door hatchback, it was powered by a standard 2.0-liter, 200-hp turbocharged inline-4, and front-wheel drive. This generation made available a six-speed manual transmission or a quick-shifting six-speed automated manual transmission (S-Tronic). Beginning in 2009, all-wheel drive with S-Tronic transmission became a popular option; also from 2006-2009, a 250 horsepower, the 3.2-liter V6 engine was offered. In 2010, Audi inaugurated the 140-hp, 2.0-liter diesel-powered engine (TDI). Throughout the years, the Audi A3’s mature demeanor has gained accolade – it honestly behaves more like a bonafide luxury car than an elegant compact. The ride is poised and self-assured, the interior is quiet and the turbocharged engines express plenty of energy. Exceptional fuel economy doesn’t hurt either, with combined ratings falling into the mid-30s, and often passing the 40 mark on the highway.
