Long Island City Acura RDX | Yonkers Preowned Cars
Some SUV buyers seek fun and agile performance over off-road capability. For them, the Long Island City Acura RDX is sure to please, providing the sporty handling they crave with the standard SUV characteristics of all-wheel drive and increased cargo volume. The two generations of the RDX offer two unmistakable varieties. The first generation of this small luxury crossover is more intuitive to drive, while the second generation offers a unique blend of sophistication and common sense that may make it the more logical choice for many buyers. Acura has a notable reputation in the used car market; overall quality and durability mean that even a preowned Acura likely has many miles ahead of it.
Restyled in 2013, the current-generation New York Acura RDX is a more prudent crossover than the vehicle it replaced. Passengers enjoy more head and leg room and there is a meaningful upgrade in cargo capacity. An easier and agiler all-wheel-drive system replaced the earlier “Super Handling All-Wheel Drive” setup, which transferred torque among the wheels to maximized restraint and handling in any conditions. Powered by a 3.5-liter V6, the current RDX will deliver up 273 horsepower, rapid acceleration and satisfying fuel economy ratings Manufactured from 2007-’12, the previous-generation Acura RDX was a small luxury crossover SUV targeted directly at car lovers seeking out a spirited driving experience with sharp handling. A turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine boasted a sinewy 240 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters was standard, and the RDX was available with either front-wheel drive or Acura’s advanced Super-Handling All-Wheel-Drive system.
Two trim levels have been produced: base and base with Technology package. Standard features include a sunroof, keyless ignition and entry, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, a rearview camera, Bluetooth phone connectivity and a seven-speaker sound system with a CD player with satellite radio. The Technology package adds further features such as xenon headlights, a power liftgate, a navigation system with real-time traffic and weather and a surround-sound audio system. The interior of the RDX’s is roomy and well thought out. The overall design is both attractive and intuitive. In front, the seats offer support more often seen on upscale German models, while the rear seats generously cede more legroom. The RDX’s 26.1 cubic feet of storage behind the rear seats will carry adequate gear, folding down the rear seats reveals a more copious 61.3 cubic feet of space.
The RDX is one of the most enjoyable crossovers to drive, thanks to energetic acceleration and lively handling. In 2010 a front-wheel-drive model hit the road, for those folks who prefer. No matter which generation you choose, you’ll find classic Acura – fun, strong, classy and beautiful. Stop into Major World to test drive the RDX or any other of our quality Yonkers preowned cars.
